CAVAL & Interlibrary Loans

If you can't find an item at Melbourne Polytechnic Library you can:

  • Request an interlibrary loan and document delivery from public and academic libraries in Australia. The item is delivered to your campus library. Journal articles and documents are emailed to you. Free for all students and staff.
  • Go to any university or TAFE library that participates in reciprocal borrowing (CAVAL). Take your current student/staff card to start borrowing. Free for students studying Cert IV and above.

ArtsHub is Australia's leading independent online resource dedicated to the world of the arts with information on news, jobs, grants and events. Full access to ArtsHub is available on campus. To obtain full access remotely, Melbourne Polytechnic students and staff will need to register. For more details see the ArtsHub guide.

Video streaming platforms

Drama Online is a streaming services that provides access to filmed live performances by the National Theatre UK. Please note you may need to be logged into Moodle or student email in order for Drama Online to recognise you as a Melbourne Polytechnic student.

Logo: Kanopy, thoughtful entertainment

Kanopy is an online video streaming platform. It has an extensive range of films, including Theatre Performances (found under the Browse > Music, Theater & Dance > Performing Arts). Please note you may need to be logged into Moodle or student email in order for Kanopy to recognise you as a Melbourne Polytechnic student. Sometimes Kanopy displays titles that you can request the library purchase; please feel free to do so!

LinkedIn Learning an online learning company that provides a vast library of engaging video tutorials to help anyone learn software, creative, and business skills. LinkedIn Learning is particularly good for courses on specific software, such as Photoshop & the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as general skills development in the areas of video editing, photography, graphic design, amongst many other topics.

  • Drama & Theatre, focusses on "practical strategies, lesson plans, and inspiration to enhance your teaching".
  • Mask magazine is the flagship journal of Drama Victoria. It includes articles on drama and theatre studies initiatives, curriculum and developments in drama education.
