LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning is an online database of self-paced video tutorials. Melbourne Polytechnic students get access to LinkedIn Learning content for free while enrolled in an MP course. 

You can find all available LinkedIn Learning courses directly in LinkedIn Learning. Many relevant courses will also appear through a MP Library catalogue search.

Useful features:

  • Technology skills (including tutorials on using different software and hands-on practice with different coding languages)
  • Jobhunting and career information (including tutorials on writing resumes and cover letters, succeeding in job interviews and the workplace)
  • Platform available in 13 different languages including English. Videos also have subtitles in multiple different languages including Simplified Chinese, Hindi, Italian, Arabic, and English
  • Professional Certificates and certification practice

Journals/publications

Interlibrary loans

If you find a book or article that you wish to use as part of your studies, but it isn't held at MP library, you can request it as an interlibrary loan.

Searching FindIt

FindIt is the Melbourne Polytechnic Library catalogue. Through FindIt you can access:

Database Searching

You cannot always find everything the library has to offer from a FindIt search. You may have to search the Melbourne Polytechnic Library databases directly. Useful databases include:

EBSCOhost : good for trade publications and peer-reviewed/academic journals. Also contains MarketLine industry reports.

Kanopy : video streaming platform with films and documentaries. Try browsing the Computers and Technology collection

IBISWorld : comprehensive company and industry reports

LinkedIn Learning : self-paced video tutorials for technology, business, jobhunting, creative skills
