Welcome to the Melbourne Polytechnic Library's guide for Bachelor of Information Technology students. Here you will find:

Using the library

Melbourne Polytechnic Library resources and facilities include:

  • Wi-fi access for students
  • Computer labs with full internet access and useful software available
  • Books and eBooks, including textbooks
  • Key discipline publications including journals
  • Video tutorials
  • Access to databases
  • Printers, scanners, and photocopiers

Most books on IT are located at the Preston campus library, but you will find some at Prahran  and other locations.

Epping, Preston, and Fairfield campuses also have computer labs with extended hours access. See the library website for locations and further information here.

Referencing & Academic Integrity

 

Book a Librarian

  • One-on-one session with a librarian. Get help with:
    • basic technology assistance (using Microsoft 365, etc.)
    • logging into Melbourne Polytechnic student accounts (Moodle, email)
    • searching for information and resources for assignments
    • using library resources/facilities (databases, printing etc.)
    • referencing & academic integrity help
  • Contact the library to book a session. All library contact information can be found on the library website here

 

Learning Skills

  • Help with reading, writing, mathematics - get a session with a teacher or see their tips on their Moodle page or the Learning Skills library guide

 

Studiosity

  • Free online anonymous 24/7 tutoring service for MP students. Use it to improve your assignments with feedback from professional tutors with feedback on your writing and structure
  • Can also be used to spellcheck your resume/cover letter for job applications
