Key Organisations

Copyright

  • APRA-AMCOS stands for the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) and Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS). These copyright collectives work together to create licences for the public performance, communication or reproduction of a creative work. These licences ensure that composers, songwriters and publishers are rewarded via royalties.
  • Australian Copyright Council is an independent, non-for-profit organisation that advocates and promotes the value of copyright. Check out their info sheets and Music Resources
  • Music Rights Australia is an organisation that "protects the creative interests of artists within the Australian music community through educational initiatives, government lobbying and the protection of artists’ copyrights." Check out their Copyright FAQs page.
  • PPCA a non-profit organisation that provides licences to Australian businesses to play recorded music in public.
