Library: Services & Facilities: Your Library Account

ID Card

 

 

All students and staff must have their ID cards to use library services.

Your Library Account

At the Library's homepage, click Library at the top of the page, then select My Library account.

 

STUDENTS

Enter your Borrower ID (the barcode from your student card) and your password.

Your default library password is your date of birth backwards  eg. if your date of birth is 3rd April 1995, your password would be 19950403.
Note: your library password is not automatically the same as your student portal password.

Select the Login button. Your account details summary page should be displayed. If you have problems, please contact the library.

STAFF

Melbourne Polytechnic staff members need to have registered in person at the library before they will get a My Library account.

If you have already registered, then follow these steps to login:

Enter your Borrower ID (your staff number)

Your library Password is the PIN or password you nominated when you registered with the library

Click the Login button.

If your library record is deactivated (expired or debarred - overdues) you may be prevented from performing certain transactions.

Select the Summary Tab in My Account

From the dashboard, select the Current Loans link

To renew all your loans, select Renew All

To renew individual loans tick the checkbox for each item you would like to renew then select Renew Selections.

Your list of loans will be updated, showing the date due for each item in the Due column. Some renewals may not be successful.

Please contact the library if you need help.

Find the item you want on the library website (FindIt or On the Shelf).

You might need to click on Retrieve Catalogue Item.

Click Place Reservation.

Enter your Borrower ID and library password.

Enter your desired Pickup Location.

Press Continue to place the reservation.

You will receive an email when your reservation/s are ready for you to collect.

Items will be held for 10 days (General Collection) or 3 days (Short Term Loan) before they are returned to the collection and will require a new reservation if needed. 

Select the Personal Details link on the dashboard.

From this screen you can see your personal details, and it is your responsibility to make sure this information is up to date.

You are able to choose when you would like to be reminded that your library items are due back

From this screen you can also change your library password. Just remember that this does not change your student/staff password it is only for the library.
