The interlibrary loan service is free for staff and students. Melbourne Polytechnic Library pays for the costs on your behalf.
Can request course related items not held by the library.
Only items to be used for teaching or research purposes can be requested.
Melbourne Polytechnic students and staff can borrow books from other university or TAFE library that participates in CAVAL (reciprocal borrowing).
Simply bring your current student or staff card to another library and request to borrow books through CAVAL.
NOTE: Students must be enrolled in Certificate IV or higher with a course duration of at least one year to participate in CAVAL.
If you can't get an item through the Melbourne Polytechnic Library you can request an interlibrary loan.
Many journal articles are available for free through libraries and institutional repositories. Before requesting an interlibrary loan check if it is available through Google Scholar.
